History
Gordyville USA was founded on a vision, built with determination, and sustained by family and community.
In 1986, Gordon “Gordy” Hannagan — a nationally respected auctioneer and horseman — along with his wife, Jan, purchased farmland just west of Gifford, Illinois. What began as an ambitious dream soon became a gathering place that would serve generations of horsemen, exhibitors, families, and organizations. After two years of planning and development, Gordyville USA officially opened its doors in 1988.
Gordy’s reputation in the equine industry was well established. Known across the country for calling premier horse sales in dozens of states and Canada, he brought experience, integrity, and passion to everything he did. Those same qualities became the foundation of Gordyville USA.
From the beginning, the facility was designed to be more than an arena — it was built to be a destination. Over the years, Gordyville hosted horse shows of all breeds, rodeos, auctions, agricultural events, trade shows, flea markets, fundraisers, and countless community gatherings. Its heated indoor arena and expansive grounds allowed events to thrive year-round, drawing visitors from across Illinois and beyond.
For nearly four decades, Gordyville remained a true family operation. The Hannagan family worked side by side to manage events, welcome guests, and maintain the standards of hospitality and excellence that became synonymous with the Gordyville name. Their dedication helped establish the facility as both an economic driver for the region and a place where lasting memories were made.
In 2024, after 37 years of family ownership, Gordyville USA entered a new chapter. While leadership transitioned, the legacy established by the Hannagan family remains at the heart of the facility’s story.

Today, Gordyville USA has entered an exciting new era. Guided by a passionate team of owners who share a deep
respect for its history and a bold vision for its future, the facility is being thoughtfully renewed and reimagined.
With ongoing renovations, updated amenities, and continued improvements, the goal is clear: to establish
Gordyville USA as the premier multi-event venue in the Midwest. While honoring the traditions that built its
reputation, the new leadership is committed to enhancing the experience for competitors, exhibitors,
event promoters, and guests alike.
Gordyville USA will continue to host the diverse and dynamic events that have defined it for decades rodeos,
tractor pulls, equestrian shows, auctions, charity events, craft shows, and more while expanding opportunities
for new and innovative experiences.
Rooted in community and driven by vision, Gordyville USA is committed to growth, excellence, and hospitality.
The foundation remains strong, but the future is even brighter.
